When you have Justice Sotomayer saying "cisgendered woman " in her rebuttal , you realize how deep the capture has gone and how difficult this will be to root out. I'm not sure this is so much a reflection of "the culture" as much as how divorced MSM and the Democratic party are from the vast majority of Americans who overwhelming oppose boys competing aginst girls. MSM and elected Democrats have become a propoganda machine for the gender identity cult/plague , transmaids They are reminiscent of the entities emerging from pods in The Body Snatchers. (Great book and original Invasion of the Body Snatchers from 1955)
It’s disturbingly ignorant how the false left vs. right framing of this issue from the get go has led to misinformation being treated as facts. The notion that the MSM has never done any real pushback on gender ideology, or document the many progressive feminists who aren’t on board with this- beyond labeling them as TERFs. Same can be said for a large percentage of people who proudly call themselves gay and lesbian (not queer).
And while most reasonable people agree on protecting women/girls sports, it is truly disconcerting to me that equal outrage isn’t applied to the issue of allowing violent men convicted of rape and murder into women’s prisons, simply because they say they are women. The data shows that the majority of women in federal prisons are not violent felons yet they are being forced to share facilities with men who are. As of 2022, Reduxx has done credible reporting that a minimum of 1,800 men are currently being housed in women’s prisons- and God knows what the actual number is today. Reduxx has also tracked the horrors that have been perpetrated against women as a result of this disastrous policy. Where is the same outrage? I don’t see it being talked about nearly enough.
Sotomayor’s compassion should be focused on that. Not spending time virtue signaling to the Sex Abolitionists by using dopey fake language like “cis women”. That term is offensive to women.
what is depressing to me is I don’t think she was virtue signaling , but has actually incorporated that verbiage into everyday speech ; it’s been normalized.
I think both can be true. Certainly this language has been normalized in certain segments of society. But the process of “normalization” has been forced upon us without debate. While I think there are some in the Democratic Party who believe this ignorant drivel, I also believe there are some who know EXACTLY how nonsensical this ideology is but aren’t brave enough to push back. And when you take into account how unhinged the trantifa crowd is towards anyone who does speaks out against gender ideology, it is not surprising.

Many headlines and text I saw from major outlets said "transgender athletes banned from sports," period.
Which is of course a lie. But I digress…. 🤦♀️
